![]() The mouse family residing in St. Lawrence Church has many excellent features which are mirrored by the human residents of Warkworth and beyond. However, in several areas we mice are definitely superior to the good folk of Northumberland. It goes without saying that our agility, and the ability to run up walls, gives us a great advantage over people. Also we have a very simple rule when it comes to elected boss-mouse. The wisest mouse is always the boss. So when Grandad Mouse, who had been boss, died some years ago Grandma Mouse became boss-mouse without any fuss and bother. No coalitions in our mousey world. The final
connection of the
drainage from the new facilities in church into Northumbrian Water’s
system in St. Lawrence Terrace is complete at last. Very soon the
servery, which is now fitted out behind the beautiful oak partition,
and toilet in the tower that is suitable for the use of disabled
people, will be opened for use. Sunday morning coffee will be prepared
and handed out from the servery. Parishioners and visitors attending
services or events in church will be able to use the facilities. It is
hoped that parishioners will approve of the improvements to our
facilities and that visitors will feel more welcome than ever. Watch this
space in September for
your good friend The Church Mouse who will be back on the case
refreshed and invigorated. June
